A recent Gallup poll has shown that an increasing number of people who use the internet are more frequently turning to blogs than other sites for their information. They say that about 20% of the people are using blogs on a normal basis. This number may seem low but you have to remember that blogs were not in the mainstream as of a year ago. They were only used by the highly technical people. Now, many people who are not that technical are seeing the power of blogs.
This explosion in blogs and the people who read them is a phenomenon that should not be ignored. 1/5 of your site audience is now reading blogs. How are you going to reach them? The easiest and most effective way is to join them. Placing a blog on your website can reach these blog readers and make them view your site as a trusted one, instead of just another business, and keep them coming back to see what you have said.
Blogs build trust because the readers can interact with the writer. They can ask questions and get answers. They can get to know you, the site owner, as a person instead of just a business. This trust in your site is essential to get site users to convert to site customers. The more trust you can build in your company and site the more users will be willing to use it for their business needs.
